Counselling is a talking therapy offering you a safe and confidential space in which to talk freely and openly about yourself and your life with a professionally qualified counsellor.

The sorts of issues that people come to counselling for are: depression, anxiety, mental and physical health, stress, anger, bereavement, addiction, abuse, relationship issues, low self esteem, work or study pressures, trauma and postnatal depression.

The core of my work is based on the humanistic existential model, which means I take a holistic approach, considering the whole person, as well as your external environment.

I have a diploma in therapeutic humanistic existential counselling from Cardiff and Vale College, which is accredited by the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists. (BACP).  I’m a member of the BACP and adhere to its ethical code of conduct. I am also qualified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST).

As well as working in private practice, I currently volunteer for a University counselling service, and I have previously worked as a counsellor for a mental health charity.

Together we can work in a warm, trusting and non-judgemental way, so that you can explore yourself and what you need to heal and grow.

During the first session we will explore what it is you want from counselling, how we will work together and whether my approach is right for you.
